For the procurement of Computers
1.Background
The Africa Health Collaborative (AHC) is a pioneering initiative aimed at strengthening primary healthcare across Africa and empowering the continent’s health sector through transformative education and innovation. As part of this program Addis Ababa University (AAU) has launched the AHC-AAU Project at College of Health Sciences (CHS), in partnership with Mastercard Foundation.
In Ethiopia, Addis Ababa University is leading the implementation of this initiative in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. This initiative is dedicated to establishing a dynamic, sustainable, and impactful network of leading African universities, alumni, government agencies, start-ups, not-for-profit organizations, and private sector partners. Its primary objective is to create dignified and meaningful employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in Africa’s health sector by focusing on three key thematic areas: Health Employment, Health Entrepreneurship, and Health Ecosystem Development.
As part of its commitment to strengthening digital capacity and operational efficiency, the AHC-Addis Ababa University Project intends to procure laptop computers for AHC-AAU Scholars. The laptops will support research, training, innovation, and other project activities, contributing to the effective implementation of the Project and its vision of advancing innovation-driven health system transformation in Ethiopia and across Africa.
2. Scope of supply
The selected vendor shall be responsible for the supply, delivery to the Africa Health Collaborative-Addis Ababa University project.
The detailed specifications, quantities, and technical requirements for each item will be provided in the complete bid document, which will be made available to all interested and eligible bidders upon request.
Africa Health Collaborative-Addis Ababa University project now invites eligible bidders who fulfill the following requirements to submit sealed bids for the above-mentioned laptops.
- Legally established in Ethiopia and/or authorized agent in the country
- Renewed appropriate trade license for 2018 E.C.
- Renewed certificate of registration from the authorized body in the sector
- VAT registration certificate
- Tax clearance certificate stating the bidder is eligible to participate in any public tender and valid at least at the deadline for submission of bids
- Tax payer registration certificate
- Manufacturer Authorization Certificate
3. Application procedure
Interested bidders may obtain the Standard Bidding Document (SBD) upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ETB 500. The fee shall be deposited into the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) Account No. 1000000891324, Account Name: College of Health Sciences. Bidders are required to indicate their company name in the deposit narration/reference field.
The SBD will be available from July 10, 2026 G.C. and may be collected from the College of Health Sciences Administration/Management Building, 1st Floor, Room No. 102, Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital, Addis Ababa.
4. Submission Deadline:
All bidders are required to submit separate technical and financial proposals in sealed and stamped envelopes (one original and one copy for each) at the Tikur Anbesa specialized Hospital, College of Health Sciences’ Administration/ Management Building 2nd Floor Room number 220 on or before July 24, 2026 G.C at 12:30 PM(lunch time) and the bid will be opened on July 24, 2026 G.C at 2:00 PM (after lunch time).
