Call for External Audit Service

We Forest (www.weforest.org)  is an international non-profit organization headquartered in Belgium and with current projects in Brazil, Ethiopia, India, Tanzania, Senegal and Zambia. The mission of the organization is to advance innovative, scalable, and long-lasting solutions to restore degraded forest and landscapes for climate, people, and planet. We promote scientific evidence for the ways in which forests contribute to climate change mitigation, beyond their impacts as stocks of carbon, by increasing water availability, enhancing local cooling and improving rural livelihood and resilience. Since February 2018, WeForest registered as a foreign Charity (license no. 3910) by The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Agency for Civil Society Organizations.

WeForest is currently seeking an External Auditor to conduct an audit service for its fiscal year 31 December 2024 financial statements in accordance with the requirement of The authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO). The Audit is required to be performed based on International Audit Standards (IAS) and the Financial Statement prepared by the Management based on International Public Service Accounting Standards (IPSAS). Eligible firms, which fulfil the following requirements, are invited to participate in this bid and submit their proposal.

Scope of the service

• The firm will audit the client’s financial statement of the fiscal year.
• There will be about 20 box files of accounting documents.
• The firm should conduct the audit according to ISA and the Authority for Civil Society Organization requirements.
• Financial consolidated report and Management letter will be the Major output of the services.
• In its proposal, the firm should provide the fee for audit service; the duration of the annual audit; date of the final audit report.
• WeForest Ethiopia reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and annul the bidding process and reject all bids at any time prior to contract award, without thereby incurring any liability to bidders.

Requirement

We hereby invite auditing firms to present their audit quotations that include

• Company profile including practicing certificates
• Renewed trade license, VAT & TIN registration certificates.
• Experience and expertise of the firm within the not-for-profit sector.
• Experience in auditing financial statements prepared in accordance with IPSAS
• Experience and ability of the audit team to be assigned to this task
• Duration of the audit and reporting timeline.
• Tax clearance letter for the year ended 2024

Audit firms that meet the requirements are kindly requested to submit in person their technical and financial proposals to the WeForest Addis Ababa office within 7 days after this announcement is made.
